c.1949 Sinsei Toys, Studebaker Coupe in Original Box

Awesome clockwork tin litho Studebaker Coupe. Marked "Made In Occupied Japan" toy is unused and complete with original box.

Manufactured by Sinsei Toys Industrial Co., Ltd. Actually their S.K.K. logo within a diamond stands for Sinsei Kiko Koyogo. Toy represents pre-1950's two door coupe. Crimson red embossed tin litho body, light blue pressed tin wheels, chrome plated front and rear bumpers, headlights and front grille. Tail lights were hand painted. Features underside chassis mounted attached key and rear stop/start lever.

Unusually light 2 piece box, both in color and weight. Possibly some combination of wood pulp and rice paper. Features terrific color illustration with "Studebaker" spelled out across the top. Drawing and colors accurately represent the toy inside. Also includes original packing paper roll which is very light. Car is virtually impossible to identify without having original box.

Size: 4½".
